The Ministry of Culture (MOC) will participate in Expo 2025 in Osaka with its cultural program titled “We Taiwan,” schedule to take place from Aug. 2 to 20. Deputy Minister of Culture Sue Wang (王時思), curator Lin Kun-ying (林昆穎), and the Secretary General Lee Hou-ching (李厚慶) of the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC) attended a media exchange event in Japan on May 22, officially announcing Taiwan’s participation in the Expo.
The press event was attended by nearly 40 media outlets from Japan and Taiwan. Introducing the program’s themes and content, Deputy Minister Wang noted that, through Taiwan’s cultural movements and enduring optimism, the MOC invites people to imagine and create a better future together. Curator Lin emphasized that the program seeks to highlight Taiwan’s resilience and actively engage in dialogue with the global community.
Secretary General Lee announced that “TAIWAN PLUS,” the largest Taiwanese cultural festival in Japan, will be held in Osaka for the first time, featuring over 100 brands across two weekend fairs, scheduled for Aug. 9-10 and Aug. 16-17.
Additionally, the MOC also launched the program’s official LINE account and a online game titled “a-We Poke Poke,” aiming to engage the public and generate greater interest in the event.
