“Tiger Aunt” is a well-known nursery rhyme and folktale that generations of Taiwanese children have grown up with. With a hint of fear and warning, children were coaxed into following the rules and going to bed early. This time, Wild Child Physical Theatre will bring this classic Taiwanese picture book story to life through mime, using humor, movement, dance, and live audience interaction for a fresh and engaging reinterpretation.

“Wild Child Physical Theatre” was founded by Yao Sun-Teck, a physical mime performer trained in France.
Yao was selected for Taiwan’s Cloud Gate Dance Theatre Wanderer Project, through which he embarked on a three-month “Mime on the Road” outdoor improvisational performance tour in China.
Since 2012, he has led the troupe across Taiwan for the “Mime on the Road – Taiwan’s Hidden Corners” residency project, traveling to remote villages, Indigenous communities, orphanages, traditional markets, and farmlands. Through these performances, he seeks to connect with local cultures and bring mime into the everyday lives of ordinary people.
