Manzai Bonbon is a Japanese manzai duo from Yoshimoto Kogyo, formed by Oota Takurou and Miki Furuu in 2009. In 2015, as part of Yoshimoto’s long-term Asia residency project, they chose Taiwan as their new stage, actively participating in local comedy shows and cultural exchange. Drawing inspiration from the differences between Japanese and Taiwanese cultures, they transform everyday observations into sharp, humorous bits. With Oota’s incisive punchlines and Miki’s naturally clueless persona, their performances strike a perfect rhythm.

In the music, they combine traditional Beiguan, folk, and rock’n’roll compositions through field research, singing in the beauty of Taiwanese with a psychedelic flavor. This album will also be followed by a novel written by the lead vocalist Tiunn Ka-siông (張嘉祥).
